This dashboard presents visual insights into crime statistics across Ireland’s Garda subdivisions. The data is layered on interactive maps and filtered by year, region, and offence type.

Data Sources

All crime data comes from public datasets provided by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) and An Garda Síochána Mapping Section. Geographical subdivision data is based on officially published GeoJSON boundaries.

Methodology

Crime totals are summed by year and offence category.
Each subdivision corresponds to one Garda station.
Per-capita metrics are calculated per 1,000 residents in each subdivision.
Subdivisions are ranked within their counties to identify high or low crime areas.
All data is static and may reflect reporting delays or rounding.
