Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2025
jake.ie/statements is designed with privacy first. By default, your CSV files are parsed locally in your browser. We don't upload your statements to a server or store them on our end.
What we process
- Your uploaded CSV file(s), processed in-memory in your browser.
- Basic usage preferences (e.g. filters) which may be saved in local storage on your device.
What we do not do
- No server-side storage of your transactions by default.
- No sale or sharing of your data with third parties.
- No tracking cookies for advertising.
Analytics
If we enable privacy-preserving analytics in the future, it will be aggregate and non-identifying (e.g. page views). We’ll update this page before any such change.
Data retention
Because your files are handled locally, retention is under your control. Clear your browser cache/local storage to remove preferences and any cached data.
In plain English: what “browser cache” means
When you use this tool, your bank CSV is handled by your device. We may save tiny bits of info like your date filters in your browser's “local storage” so things feel the same when you come back. That info lives only on this device and only in this browser.
- Your statement file isn't uploaded to us. Close the tab, and it's gone from the page.
- Saved preferences (like filters) can remain until you clear your browser data.
- If you share a computer, someone using the same browser profile could see your saved preferences—not your file.
- If you download a PDF, it's saved to your own device like any other file.
- Using Private/Incognito mode removes this stuff automatically when you close the window.
How to clear it quickly:
Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or ⌘+Shift+Delete (Mac), then clear “Cached images/files” and “Site data / local storage” for this site.
